If you’re serious about being smart with credit cards you should ensure you have a good idea of your credit score at all times.
Credit scores can go up and down all the time. For more info read our Guide on Credit Ratings.
In the UK there are a few places where you can get your score, and in some cases even your full report, for FREE. It was once common to charge customers up to £15 per month to access their score and report but thankfully for all of us, those days are gone. See our list below for a run down of the best places to get your free score and/or report.
Best Free Credit Score Sites
- ClearScore ♥♥♥♥♥
Launched in 2015 ClearScore offers a super slick interface which lets you see your credit score and your full Equifax credit report, you can also see credit card and loan offers. They even now offer ‘coaching’ to help you improve or maintain your score. Completely free from start to finish and a joy to behold.

- Noddle ♥♥♥♥
Noddle launched in 2014 and is owned by one of the big three credit bureaus, CallCredit. The interface isn’t quite as smooth as ClearScore and it’s not quite as pretty but the information is top notch. Noddle also lists credit cards and loans based on how likely you are to be accepted for them. - MSE Credit Club ♥♥♥♥
Martin Lewis is something of a firebrand in consumer credit and his entry to the free credit scores market was bound to generate interest. The Credit Club offering from MoneySavingExpert is good, if a little complicated. You get free access to your Experian credit score and full report, MSE also provide their own interpretation of your ‘affordability score’ and another metric which shows how likely you are to get accepted for the best credit card and loans deals in the market.
In spite of the complications using and logging into the site, the free access to your Experian credit report is a huge plus.
